Setting up first shots for each camera
On the menu on the left of the wirecast screen, select the second menu tab called “Shot Layer Properties” (It should have an icon with three faders). Set the size to 1920 x 1080 as shown below. Do this for all of the cameras you put in.
Select the third menu tab (it should have a speaker icon). Mute the camera mics and do this for all of the cameras being added.
Using the PTZOptics controller on the desk if set up*, select the first camera and get it into the position you need.
Using the PTZ Controller window in Wirecast, select the camera on the top, and save the preset for that camera.
Repeat the following steps for your other cameras until every camera has a preset 1.
Rename each shot accordingly by right-clicking the shot (for example: “C2P1 Podium Close” for a close up of a podium using Camera 2 Preset 1)
Under the shot layer properties window for each shot, go to the PTZ dropdown and assign preset 1 to each shot.
Adding more angles
To add more angles and presets, first duplicate the Camera shots that are already created and rename them.
Using the controller, set up each shot and save to the corresponding preset (2,3,4,...). Then, in the shot layer properties window for each shot, choose the PTZ dropdown and assign each shot the corresponding preset.
*If the controller isn’t available, Wirecast has a built-in controller window that can be used instead. On the top navigation bar, choose Window>PTZ Controller. This can be used just like the normal controller.
